Flashback: September 14, 1918

This is a picture of my maternal grandfather, Cecil Conner, and his grandmother, Mary Simpson. It was one of a series of pictures in an old album unearthed recently in my mother's house. I'll post more pictures on this series on Flickr over time.

Mostly moved...

Few updates as we've been moving. Thanksgiving day was the big stuff move date. We also did dinner with Chris, Val and Conner. Sleeping in the new house now, although there's still a lot of little stuff in the other house to transfer over or otherwise deal with.

New Appliances!

We got our kitchen appliances.

The Fridge looks great.

The Dishwasher needed a special order part, that should be in tomorrow.

This is the range. It is 1/4" too wide.

Paint and Trim!

Adam painted Molly's room today. 2 walls are still white, 2 are now bright yellow.
He also bought trim for around the baseboards.

Windows!

The windows are all in. Tomorrow they come fix the stucco on the outside of the house. Yippee!!!

Windows and Doors!

Our window guys are finally here. Apparently, they've installed our new sliding glass doors now. They can open from the middle... to a 6-foot span of open-ness!

Drywall work and stuff

We've been busy this week. The drywall guy FINALLY came this afternoon and finished the drywall, so now we're almost ready for painting. Adam got a plumber to finish up with the kitchen sink and the gas line for the range. He also got a big diningroom fixture up. Now, it's all a hurried clean-up before the party tomorrow. After the party, we'll have loads of other details: Painting, baseboards, windows, sliding glass door, kitchen appliances, new switchplates and other joys.

Yes, we're still working...

The tile is done, and Adam has installed a transition. This is all messy because he's grouted the gap (it will be all pretty soon).

He's also in process of installing our new dining room light.


Molly was home sick today, so that cut into the progress... we've finally heard from the Window installers... they come on Monday. Still waiting on drywall finisher, etc.

Adam did paint my office, though, so we'll be able to start moving garage and office stuff sometime soon. (Maybe after Monday...)

We're having a little open-house house-warming for the neighborhood and close by friends on Saturday. One challenge of that will be getting the house cleaned up in time! Still, things are moving, which is good. Looks like moving will occur around Thanksgiving...
