Fairy Tea 2008

Fairies ran amuck on our lawn May 17th! We had an extremely good time, The Fairies started to arrive at twilight time, as fairies often do. After a sweet prayer they enjoyed some cakes and tea before fluttering about the yard. Although they were quite fast we managed to get a few photos, enjoy!

The delights of old family movies...

(this is Wendy) -- About 10 years ago, someone in the Castleman clan took our old 8mm family movies and had them put onto VHS. It was wonderful for seeing family long gone and making them come alive in our memories and hearts.

Recently, Annie Adams sent David (Adam) a bunch of old reels they had on the Adams side of the family. Like ours, they had pretty much not been seen in forever. Adam took them in and had them restored and transferred to DVD. What a delight! He's in the midst of a project to add audio and upload some to the internet.

Conner Jiu Jitsu competition news

Hi all,

Conner competed yesterday in the Charles Gracie Invitational tournament in Tracy (300+ competitors). This was the first competition of any kind for Conner (unlike Kendall who was doing 3-4 sports at this age Conner has been more reserved). He has been doing Gracie (Brazilian) Jiu Jitsu for a few months now and really enjoying himself...and doing very well by all accounts, the instructors are all very impressed by him.

Conner's first match was against a slightly more experienced kid (one belt higher) and Conner completely dominated him for a big win on points. His second fight was against the boy who won his division, again a more experienced (two belts up) and older and larger. Conner did very well avoiding numerous submission attempts surviving to the end of the match, eventually loosing on points. Conner ended up in 3rd place winning a bronze medal (picture attached).

Cecil Conner's Football Team

Cecil was Wendy and Chris's grandfather. This is a picture of his high school football team...the same team that Chris played for 60yrs later! (Cecil is the 4th from the left in the second row). Incidentally this photo is now on the homepage of the Reedley High Football web page!

Today I have Miss Molly heavily on my mind. I'm thinking her 9-month milestone may kick-off a whole new season in skill development. What I really wish, of course, is that I could get a hug and give a tickle.... that little smile is infectious!
